  • Hors d’oeuvres prepared by distinguished local chefs, Phillip Hurley and John Gadau, of Marigold Kitchen and Sardine Restaurant, featuring produce from our own certified organic Troy Community Farm.
  • Cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), featuring locally distilled vodka from Yahara Bay Distillers and ingredients from the land at Troy Gardens.
  • Music and lively conversation with others who support Community GroundWorks’ mission of nurturing meaningful relationships among people and the land.

Tickets

$65 per person, in tribute to the largest zucchini on record, a 65 lb. monster that was probably impossible to give away.

$45 from each ticket is tax deductable, to support Community GroundWorks’ educational activities with adults and children.

Savor the Summer Festival on August 7!

Join us for our annual Savor the Summer Festival at Troy Gardens on Saturday, August 7th from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm! Featuring the Boys & Girls Blackstar Drumline & other music, hayrides, kids' activities, a free community garden feast & Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, while it lasts.  Savor the Summer Cookbook, t-shirts and more on sale too!

Whole Foods Grill Out for Community GroundWorks!

Join us at Whole Foods (3313 University Avenue in Madison) on Tuesday, August 3 from 4-8 pm for a grill out to benefit Community GroundWorks!  They'll be serving a scrumptious menu from the grill with veggie alternatives, and all proceeds will go to Community GroundWorks.  We'll have an info booth and will be selling our brand-new Savor the Summer Cookbooks--come on out to see us!

Join us for the Olbrich Home Garden Tour!

We are proud to be hosting this year's Olbrich Home Garden Tour on Friday July 9 and Saturday July 10.  Please join us to see first-hand how gardening can be a community effort. Be inspired by creative solutions to gardening problems, beautiful landscapes, and interesting vegetables. Pastries and sandwiches will be available for purchase onsite from Manna Cafe during the tour.  Pre-tour day tickets for the event are available at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Felly's Flowers, and Jung Garden Centers, and can also be purchased on the days of the tour.        
 
Tickets will also be available on site for the "At Home With Nature" Raffle.  Buy tickets to win a gazebo, chicken coop, play structure, or garden shed.  Proceeds from the raffle will benefit Community GroundWorks and the Madison Waldorf School.

Community GroundWorks in the news!

It's been an exciting week for Community GroundWorks!  Not only were we featured in June's issue of Madison Magazine, but we also got plenty of attention when we installed a vegetable garden at the Capitol on Tuesday.  Check out these articles in the Wisconsin State Journal, the Wisconsin Radio Network, and the Superior Telegram.  And listen to this radio clip on WPR. 

Help us continue on this exciting trend!  We are working with Goodman Community Center to win an online vote for a project grant contest sponsored by Nature's Path Organics to expand our partnership at the East High Youth Farm.  Please take a few minutes to cast your vote for us.  Voting ends on May 31!
